Vow renewals are one of the most special events I am invited
to photograph. It is a really emotional event – I think more so than the first
wedding as two people have chosen to be together, build a life together, love
and support each other thru the ups and downs of life and grow old together. Here
is the story of Lynn & Mark.
Lynn & Mark met 15 yrs ago didn’t have a lot of money
for a nice wedding and decided to get married in Vegas. In Marks words “it was pretty hokey to say
the least” Thru all the years Mark always felt like something was missing, he
wanted Lynn to have the fairytale wedding she had always dreamed of. Mark researched the most romantic places to
get married and found the Four Seasons Wailea at the top of the list. He booked
the event and kept it a secret. One day he presented Lynn with a card
containing the hotel and flight reservations and asked her to get a dress. He did
not reveal any further plans. They
landed on Maui; Lynn still had no idea of what was to come. Mark asked her to
be in her room by 12:30, at 1pm a hair and makeup person showed up to doll her
up. I showed up at 4pm with the ceremony
set for 5. This is about the time Lynn figured it all out and was moved to
tears. Both Mark and Lynn could not stop crying during the ceremony.
